Multi Translator

Multi Translator is a small free utility for translation of text or subtitles (SubRip .srt).

At the moment it is possible to translate from Danish to Swedish (dansk til svensk). However, it is possible to add more languages.

Please note that translated material will still need manuel correction. Just running a Swedish subtitle through this program will not make a proper Danish subtitle - but it is a good start.

The included xml word lists are created by me by going through existing Swedish subtitles and contains more than 40000 words.

If you find an error or add new words (will be added to the file data\Swedish to Danish\words_user.xml) please do email me.
The word lists can be freely used, but please make a link to this page if you find a use of them.

August 12th, 2010 - Multi Translator 1.5 - Improved utf-8 file detection, sync textboxes option. 41423 words in swedish danish word list and 3005 phrases.
June 27th, 2009 - Multi Translator 1.4 - word splitting, google translate suggestion. 37565 words in swedish danish word list and 2343 phrases.
October 18th, 2007 - Dictionaries opdated: 32293 words in swedish danish word list and 1517 phrases.
August July 19th, 2007 - Multi Translator 1.3 - Uppercase i inside lowercase word is now detected (and optionally fixed). New function to export target words/phrases for spellchecking (for administrators only). Many spelling errors fixed. Most dictionaries are now saved binary (smaller, faster). 31438 words in swedish danish word list and 1435 phrases.
July 8th, 2007 - Multi Translator 1.2 - New function to list most used whole lines (for administrators only). 30040 words in swedish danish word list and 1317 phrases.
June 11th, 2007 - Multi Translator 1.1 - Bugfix: Sometimes line breaking occured in the middle of a word. 28195 words in swedish danish word list and 1221 phrases. Breaking change: Special rules are now regular expressions.
August 20th, 2006 - Multi Translator 1.0 - Bugfix: Sometimes first line was skipped in a translation (after a cancel). 26017 words in swedish danish word list (and 1034 phrases).
July 26th, 2006 - Multi Translator 1.0 RC 3 - Names etc now exits both globally and locally (for each language). New local Config file for each language. Url detection improved a bit. Small bugfix in begin-line translation. Add whole line: If first letter in source is uppercase, then first letter in target will be made uppercase too. A few spelling errors fixed ;)
July 15th, 2006 - Multi Translator 1.0 RC 2 - Runtime error fixed in special rule + a few minor fixes. 25200 words in swedish danish word list (and 836 phrases).
July 13th, 2006 - Multi Translator 1.0 RC 1 - Breaking change: The phrase wordlist xml tag "frase" is now called "phrase". 25125 words in swedish danish word list (and 835 phrases).
June 28th, 2006 - Multi Translator 1.0 Beta 11 - New import functions (for administrators only). 24177 words in swedish danish word list (and 766 phrases).
June 6th, 2006 - Multi Translator 1.0 Beta 10 - Small fix for custom wordlists. 23.554 words in swedish danish word list (and 676 phrases).

May 29th, 2006 - Multi Translator 1.0 Beta 7 - Custom phrase dictionaries possible, Open/Save remember folder, files are saved using default encoding (and not UTF8), dictionaries updated (23242 words in swedish danish word list).

April 27th, 2006 - Multi Translator 1.0 Beta 4 - Bugfix: Sometimes a word was skipped and a internal code-string could be displayed, statictics now available via button, dictionaries updated (21.600 words in swedish danish word list).
April 14th, 2006 - Multi Translator 1.0 Beta 3 - Can now display statictics, end lines/phrases can now start with comma, dictionaries updated (21317 words in swedish danish word list).
April 12th, 2006 - Multi Translator 1.0 Beta 2 - Minor bugfix for questions, word list opdated - now contains more than 21000 words.
April 8th, 2006, program rewritten, is now called Multi Translator, linebreaks are now handled nicely, huge speed improvement, new word lists, can now also handle .txt files, new languages can now easily be added.
